Today I had a short walk around Karolinska Institutet, Solna campus. It is a very windy day. Nothing much to see, except some common birds. I made a movie of Blackbird feeding on the ground. Blackbird, also known as Common Blackbird or Eurasian Blackbird, is the national bird of Sweden, as a result of a newspaper poll in 1962. Blackbirds are rather common in Sweden, even in urban area.

Keep the videos coming Kah-Wai they are great. I saw your Dipper movie too....have I missed any?
ReplyDeleteNice photos and video! Blackbirds are also terrific singers. I recall walking along a suburban street in Germany, and being accompanied by their songs as there was at least one bird in each yard.
ReplyDeleteLovely images and video Kah-Wai.
ReplyDeleteYou learn something every day - I didn't know our UK common Blackbird is the national bird of Sweden.
ReplyDeleteEven though the Blackbird can be a pest where it has been introduced into a new environment it is beautiful with those glossy black feathers. Great Photos.
ReplyDeleteSuper I really like the black birds--Great Video!!
ReplyDeleteGood series!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. The shape of the blackbird reminds me of our robins here. Interesting bird.
ReplyDeleteThey're pretty -- rather common around here too. In Oregon there are red-winged blackbirds that have a beautiful song.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post! Between your photos and the cool video I get a great feel for this blackbird. Man, your pictures are so clear I can count the feathers!
ReplyDeleteBlackbirds are one of my favorites. The yellow and black combination is just so nice. It always fascinates me how they pick on the leaves and turn them in search of worms.
